Our Story

Bluffland Leather Co. began in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, with a simple goal: to create leather goods that are as durable as they are beautiful. For 27 years, I worked in construction, where I often built my own tool pouches and crafted practical items for my family. That hands-on experience taught me the value of sturdy, functional gear—and it’s the same philosophy I bring into every leather piece I make today.

Inspired by the bluffs, valleys, and winding rivers of Southeast Minnesota, Bluffland Leather Co. reflects the natural strength and character of the land we call home. What started as a small workshop has grown into a business serving not only our neighbors in Rochester, Austin, Olmsted County, Fillmore County, and Mower County, but also customers across the United States. Each wallet, purse, or bag we make is crafted to last for years and tell a story along the way.

Our Craft

At Bluffland Leather Co., every piece is hand-cut, hand-stitched, and hand-finished. We specialize in veg-tanned leather, known for its strength and the way it develops a rich patina over time. For certain projects, we also use oil-tanned and chrome-tanned leathers when extra flexibility, weather resistance, or unique finishes are desired.

Our product line includes rugged wallets, beautiful purses, shoulder bags, belts, and small everyday carry items. We believe in making goods that are not only functional but also timeless, so you can carry them for decades to come.

Our Community

While our products are shipped nationwide, Southeast Minnesota is our heart. We proudly serve people in towns across the region, including Stewartville, Byron, Eyota, Chatfield, Preston, Harmony, Spring Valley, Lanesboro, Rushford, Peterson, LeRoy, Adams, Dexter, Brownsdale, and Grand Meadow.
